WEATHER CONDITIONS: SUNNY AND BRIGHT.

Another strong showing in the warm-up from Barrichello who set fastest time ahead of his Ferrari team-mate Michael Schumacher, while Felipe Massa (Sauber), Heinz-Harald Frentzen (Arrows) and Nick Heidfeld (Sauber) underlined the strength of the Bridgestone challenge with the next three quickest laps.

SCUDERIA FERRARI MARLBORO (1st Barrichello/2nd M. Schumacher)

Technical: No changes to cars for today.

Sporting: Barrichello had a trouble-free run in his race car, checking out settings but not making any set-up changes. Schumacher started by doing one lap in the spare F2002, followed by two laps in the race car, then eight more laps in the spare followed by six laps with the race car. Michael was concentrating on tyre work and trying to improve the car in the second sector of the lap.

Quotes: Barrichello: "We will just have to see how the race unfolds. We just want to ensure that we get ahead at the start."

SAUBER PETRONAS (3rd Massa/5th Heidfeld)

Technical: No changes to cars for today.

Sporting: Massa had no problems whatsoever and was leaving his C21's set-up unchanged. Heidfeld said he was pleased with his car but might make some more minor changes before the start of the race.

Quotes: Heidfeld: "I don't anticipate any problems from Williams and Ferrari in front of me because I think they want to finish the race."

ORANGE ARROWS (4th Frentzen/6th Bernoldi)

Technical: No changes to cars for today.

Sporting: Frentzen tried both spare and race car, particularly happy with the cars on heavy fuel loads and scrubbed tyres. Bernoldi upbeat about his possible performance.

Quotes: Bernoldi: "It would be great if I could score a championship point this afternoon."

WEST McLAREN MERCEDES (7th Coulthard/9th Raikkonen)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Raikkonen did a few laps in the spare MP4/17 and then ran his race car. Both he and Coulthard concentrated primarily on scrubbing tyres for the race.

Quotes: Ron Dennis: "I think we're looking in surprisingly good shape today."

LUCKY STRIKE BAR HONDA (8th Villeneuve/11th Panis)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Villeneuve has chosen to race the spare BAR004 but still feels generally dissatisfied with the set-up he has reached. Panis very confident and happy with his car in race trim.

Quotes: Panis: "The car feels very good on full tanks and old tyres."

JAGUAR RACING (10th Irvine/16th de la Rosa)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: A routine session with no real surprises. Both cars relatively slow, despite differing fuel loads, and both drivers simply hoping for reliable races.

Quotes: De la Rosa: "I think the car feels slightly better than expected with a lot of fuel aboard."

BMW WILLIAMSF1 TEAM (14th R. Schumacher/18th Montoya)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Both drivers started the session by scrubbing rain tyres just in case of a wet race, then Ralf had a couple of off-course experiences but had no technical problems. He and Montoya both ran heavy fuel loads but had made different tyre choices yesterday.

Quotes: Schumacher: "It all depends how we can get away off the grid as it is a long run to the first corner."

MILD SEVEN RENAULT F1 TEAM (13th Button/17th Trulli)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Trulli back in race car after yesterday's problems and finding handling improved thanks to fitting new underfloor since Barcelona. Button much happier having experienced no problems at all.

Quotes: Trulli: "Hopefully we will have better luck today than we experienced during qualifying."

DHL JORDAN HONDA (12th Fisichella/15th Sato)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Fisichella switched to the spare EJ-12 after suffering an exhaust sensor failure on his race car; no big problem as the exhaust system was scheduled to be replaced prior to the race. Sato spent the session checking out tyre wear.

Quotes: Gary Anderson: "We got through the workload we needed to cover in preparation for the race."

KL MINARDI ASIATECH (19th Webber/22nd Yoong)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Yoong had opted for the soft compound Michelin tyre while Webber went for the hard. A trouble-free session.

Quotes: Webber: "It will be a tough and unpredictable race today."

PANASONIC TOYOTA RACING (20th Salo/21st McNish)

Technical: No changes to the cars for today.

Sporting: Salo covered four laps in the spare TF102 and both men had a trouble-free session.

Quotes: Salo: "We are in quite good shape for the race today."
