Ferrari fans were delighted this morning when Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher posted the top times during the half-hour race warm-up held in cool, but dry conditions here at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari this morning. Juan Pablo Montoya was third fastest ahead of both Sauber C21s.

SCUDERIA FERRARI MARLBORO (1st Barrichello/2nd M. Schumacher)

Technical: Schumacher switched to F2002 chassis 219 for today, this being the original spare car which Barrichello used yesterday. Barrichello took over chassis 220, previously Schumacher's race car, while the spare is 217.

Sporting: Barrichello very happy indeed, reporting that the car felt very good, notably in the second sector of the lap. Michael did his best time in the spare car.

Quotes: Schumacher: "I had a slight moment when I slid off into the gravel at Rivazza due to a brake balance problem."

BMW WILLIAMSF1 TEAM (3rd Montoya/12th R. Schumacher)

Technical: No changes to the car specification for today.

Sporting: Schumacher tried both his race car and the spare in a back-to-back assessment while Montoya experimented with different downforce levels.

Quotes: Schumacher: "I feel quite confident with the car but we're hoping the conditions stay dry."

SAUBER PETRONAS (4th Heidfeld/5th Massa)

Technical: No changes to the car specification for today.

Sporting: Heidfeld very happy after doing a total of 17 laps gathering more data for the race with no problems. Massa almost matched Heidfeld's time despite running with a heavier fuel load.

Quotes: Heidfeld: "We're hoping for a good race and a chance of some championship points today."

WEST McLAREN MERCEDES (6th Raikkonen/7th Coulthard)

Technical: No changes to the car specification for today.

Sporting: Routine session with the team working through final race set-up details and Raikkonen briefly trying the spare MP4/17.

Quotes: Coulthard: "We had a rather difficult qualifying session yesterday and now we're aiming to make up ground."

LUCKY STRIKE BAR HONDA (8th Villeneuve/15th Panis)

Technical: Revised rear suspension geometry fitted overnight.

Sporting: Panis said the car felt slightly better than yesterday, but he was disappointed to be a second slower than Villeneuve. The Canadian stalled his car briefly at the pit lane exit.

Quotes: Panis: "We're making some progress, but we're looking at a tough time this afternoon."

MILD SEVEN RENAULT F1 TEAM (9th Button/11th Trulli)

Technical: No changes to car specification for today.

Sporting: Button and Trulli both quite happy with the feel of their R202s, although Trulli suffered an engine failure late in the session.

Quotes: Button: "We are hoping to follow up Brazil with another good race."

ORANGE ARROWS (10th Bernoldi/13th Frentzen)

Technical: No changes to car specification for today.

Sporting: Frentzen tried both his race and the spare car and also did some pit stop practice. Bernoldi had a routine session with no problems.

Quotes: Frentzen: "We need to score points today for the team's peace of mind."

DHL JORDAN HONDA (14th Sato/16th Fisichella)

Technical: No changes to car specification for today.

Sporting: After the problems both cars suffered in practice and qualifying, this session was spent checking tyre degradation levels on full tanks.

Quotes: Sato: "I hope we can have a trouble-free race today."

JAGUAR RACING (17th Irvine/19th de la Rosa)

Technical: No changes to car specification for today.

Sporting: Continued lack of downforce again prevented decent tyre temperatures from being generated and team now looking forward to Silverstone test next week.

Quotes: Niki Lauda: "There is really nothing to say that has changed since yesterday."

PANASONIC TOYOTA RACING (18th Salo/21st McNish)

Technical: No major changes to car specification for today.

Sporting: Salo used both his race car and the spare TF102, still complaining that the car had poor traction and felt no better over the kerbs. McNish has changed his set-up since yesterday.

Quotes: Salo: "We found no miracle cure overnight."

KL MINARDI ASIATECH (20th Webber)

Technical: All three cars available to Webber after Yoong missed the 107 qualifying cut.

Sporting: No major problems this morning.

Quotes: Webber: "It would be nice to have a good result to make up for the disappointment of only having one car in the race."
